How we size your system

An off-grid system is sized for the hardest time of the year, not for a sunny day in July.

   Your daily consumption

   Refrigerator, lighting, water pump, Internet, tools: we add up what you use, in kWh per day, for the seasons you are on site.

   Days without sun

   The batteries must cover several grey days in a row. That number of days sets the storage capacity.

3. 3

   Winter

   In December and January, days are short and panels can be covered in snow. We plan the panels for that period, and a heated or insulated room for the batteries.

4. 4

   The backup generator

   For a cottage used in winter, an auto-start generator recharges the batteries when solar is not enough.
